Burn times vary by size and environmental conditions, but our candles are crafted to maximize longevity. Most range from 40 to 60+ hours with proper wick trimming and care.

How do I take care of my soy candle?

For the best burn, allow your soy candle to stabilize at room temperature for at least 24 hours once home. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each lighting, always allow a full melt pool before extinguishing, burn no longer than 4 hours at a time, and keep away from drafts. Your candle is finished when there is 1/4 to 1/2 inch of wax remaining. Burns outside these guidelines are not covered under our One-Year Flawless Burn Promise.

What is your shipping and processing time?

Orders are typically processed within 1 to 3 business days. You will receive tracking once your order ships.

What is The GOOD LIFE's return policy?

All sales are final. As a small-batch, handcrafted brand, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges based on preference, including fragrance selection or change of mind. This policy applies to all products including diffuser oils, lip balms, and accessories. If you believe your candle arrived with a defect in craftsmanship or materials, please reach out to us directly.

What happens if my candle has a defect?

Every TGL candle is backed by our One-Year Flawless Burn Promise. If a rare imperfection in the wax or wick affects your candle's performance, such as sinkholes or inconsistent melting, we will make it right. Simply email us with your order details and a few photos. This promise applies to defects in craftsmanship and materials only.

Are soy candles better than paraffin candles?

Yes. Soy candles burn cleaner and longer than paraffin, which is a petroleum byproduct that releases toxins when burned. Our soy-beeswax blend produces minimal soot, burns more evenly, and is a safer choice for your home and air quality.

Why does my soy candle look bumpy or have white spots?

This is called frosting and is a natural characteristic of pure soy wax. It does not affect the scent throw or burn quality of your candle. It is actually a sign that your candle contains real, natural soy wax rather than synthetic blends.

What is a fragrance oil and how is it different from an essential oil?

Fragrance oils are carefully blended aromatic compounds designed for consistent, long-lasting scent. Unlike essential oils, which are single-note plant extracts, fragrance oils allow for complex, layered scent profiles. All of our fragrance oils are skin-safe, phthalate-free, and clean-burning.

How do I use a reed diffuser?

Remove the stopper, insert the reeds into the oil, and flip them after 24 hours to activate the scent. For a stronger throw, flip the reeds more frequently. Place your diffuser away from direct sunlight and air vents for the best performance. Replace the reeds when they become saturated and no longer diffuse scent effectively.

How do I get the most scent throw from my candle?

Allow a full melt pool to form on the first burn to set the wax memory and ensure even burning. Trim your wick to 1/4 inch before every burn, keep the room moderately sized, and burn for at least 2 hours per session for maximum fragrance release.

Can I use fragrance oil in my diffuser?

It depends on the type of diffuser. Our diffuser oils are specifically formulated for reed and ultrasonic diffusers. Concentrated fragrance oils are intended for oil burners, wax warmers, and DIY projects. Always check the product description to confirm the intended use before adding to your diffuser.

What is the best candle scent for relaxation?

How do I know when my candle is done?

Stop burning your candle when 1/4 to 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom. Burning past this point can cause the vessel to overheat. The remaining wax acts as a buffer that protects the container and helps the candle burn safely to the end.

Are your candles safe around pets?

We formulate our candles to be as clean as possible, free from phthalates, synthetic dyes, and harmful additives. However, we always recommend burning candles in well-ventilated spaces and keeping them out of reach of pets. If you have concerns about specific sensitivities, consult your veterinarian.
