What Is a Scent Shot? Meet the 3 ml Mini Room Spray
A Scent Shot is The GOOD LIFE's 3 ml mini room spray. It is a small, ready-to-use fine mist that lets you try a fragrance at home before choosing a larger bottle or exploring it in another format.
Fragrance notes can help you narrow a long list. Trying a scent in your own room helps you decide whether you actually want it there. A Scent Shot gives you a smaller way to make that choice, whether you are comparing two fragrances or simply curious about something new.
Small bottle. Useful first step.
3 ml of fragrance in a mini room spray, ready to mist into the air. Try it at home and notice what you enjoy.
Start with a contrast
Fresh cotton and warm amber make a useful first comparison. Try each separately rather than layering them in the same room.
Why try a mini room spray first?
Two descriptions can sound equally appealing. Saffron and amber might catch your attention, while cotton and lavender sound familiar. Sampling gives you more to work with than the scent names alone.
You can try the fragrance where you plan to enjoy it, give it time to settle and come back to it on another occasion. You do not need to identify every note. The useful question is whether you like the overall fragrance in your space.
Three fragrance directions to explore
Start with something familiar, then choose a different direction if you want a comparison. These three options give you fresh, warm and fruity starting points.
Warm amber and woods
Saffron 33
Saffron and jasmine meet vanilla, suede and amber, with cedarwood and patchouli underneath. Start here if you enjoy warm fragrances with soft sweetness.
Try Saffron 33Fresh cotton and soft florals
White Lace
Sun-dried cotton, English lavender and lemon blossom lead into soft florals, white musk and birch wood. Start here if you like a linen-inspired fragrance.
Try White LaceSweet fruit and coconut
Butt Naked
Strawberry, coconut and cherry open the fragrance, with berry nectar and soft florals over tonka bean and sugar. Start here if you enjoy sweet, fruity scents.
Try Butt NakedFor a first comparison, White Lace and Saffron 33 put fresh cotton beside warm amber. If fruit is what interests you, try Butt Naked alongside whichever of those sounds more appealing. You can keep the first round small and explore more after you know what you like.
How to compare Scent Shots at home
- Choose a room you know. Try the fragrance in a space where you would normally enjoy room spray. Avoid starting while another strong fragrance is already noticeable.
- Use one fragrance at a time. Begin with one spray into the air. Let it settle, then add a second only if you want more, following the product's directions.
- Notice your response. Does the fragrance feel fresh, warm, floral, woody or fruity to you? Do you enjoy it enough to want it in the room again?
- Try the second on another occasion. Use the same space after the earlier fragrance has cleared. Give each scent its own turn so you can judge it without a mixture.
- Keep a simple note. Write the scent name and a few words about what you liked. Return to your favorite before deciding whether to choose a larger product.
Keep the mist away from faces, lit candles, open flames and heat. Use your Scent Shot as a room spray and follow its directions for use and storage.
Three things worth noticing
- Which fragrance would you want to use again?
- Did you prefer the fresher, warmer or sweeter direction?
- Did your favorite change after you tried each on another occasion?
From a sample to your everyday fragrance
Finding a scent you enjoy and choosing its format are two different decisions. A mini spray can remain your small bottle of fragrance, or help you choose something for regular use.
| Format | A useful choice for |
|---|---|
| 3 ml Scent Shot | Trying a fragrance or enjoying room spray in a smaller bottle. |
| 3.4 oz / 100 ml room spray | Keeping a favorite fragrance for regular misting. |
| 8.5 oz soy candle | Enjoying the fragrance alongside the glow of a flame, with appropriate candle care. |
A spray sample helps you choose the fragrance
It does not demonstrate a candle's burn or fragrance strength when lit. Different formats release fragrance differently, so use your Scent Shot to discover the scent direction you enjoy.

A couple of questions before you try one
Can a Scent Shot go in a diffuser?
Use it straight from its spray bottle as a mini room spray. It is not a diffuser refill or fragrance oil. For a device, choose a product intended for that use and follow the device manufacturer's instructions.
Is it a perfume sample?
A Scent Shot is a home-fragrance room spray. Try it in the air to explore the fragrance rather than applying it as a personal perfume. For more on room spray application, read how to use room and linen spray.
